GUIDE / YOUR TRACK

Your GPX file.
See it in 3D.

Already have a hiking track? View, play and save it in TRAILVISION. An imported GPX remains the original track — we do not recalculate it along the trail network.

How to import a GPX and start playback

  1. Open 3D preview

Open the map and select “3D preview” in the top navigation.

  2. Choose your file

Press Choose GPX file and select a file on your device. After import, its name and distance appear. The app supports tracks with up to 12,000 points.

  3. Play or view the entire route

Use “Play” to follow the route or “Entire route” to see the whole hike. You can also change the camera and move the playback progress.

  4. Save to My routes

Under the track name, choose Save in My routes. A confirmation appears after saving. Repeated taps do not create duplicates.

  5. Back to saved route

In “Plan”, expand “My routes” and choose “Open”. A saved GPX opens in the 3D preview without selecting the file again.

Can a GPX without elevations show a profile?

Missing elevations are marked as unavailable. Displaying a track on 3D terrain does not add measured elevations to the file. A partially incomplete profile is marked as approximate.

Where is my saved route and how can I transfer it?

“My routes” are stored locally: in this browser, on this device and for this website address. No account is needed and routes do not sync automatically. Use “Download backup”, then “Load backup” on your other device. Keep the original GPX too.

Does removing an imported GPX delete the saved copy?

Remove GPX removes the active preview track. The copy in My routes stays until you delete it from the library. The limit is 50 routes; unavailable browser storage is reported as a save error.

This guide covers GPX saving in the public TRAILVISION beta. Maps and planning require internet access; installing the PWA does not provide offline maps.
